Dunnellon, FL – A 48-year-old Dunnellon woman was struck and killed by a truck last month as she attempted to cross U.S. 41.
The woman was crossing from the east around 10 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
As the woman crossed the road, a 1986 GMC 1500 pickup heading north hit her with the front passenger’s side of the vehicle. The 50-year-old driver apparently tried to swerve to avoid hitting her.
The woman was taken to Tri-County Hospital in Williston, where she was pronounced dead shortly upon arrival.
