A Homosassa woman was seriously injured in a Citrus County airboat accident last month on the Withlachoochee River.
The 30-year-old woman was accompanied by a 36-year-old man and her two children, according to investigators from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission.
While the woman was reaching into the transom area of the airboat to retrieve something, the man apparently cranked the motor causing the woman to be struck by the airboat’s three-blade propeller.
She suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital.
FWC officials are further investigating the accident.
