A 27-year-old Inverness man was killed Friday night after he apparently lost control of his car and collided into a tree.
The Florida Highway Patrol pronounced him dead at the scene.
He was headed east on County Road 48 in Sumter County Friday night just after 10 p.m. FHP officials believe the man over-corrected after his vehicle veered onto the south shoulder of the roadway, ultimately causing him to smash into the tree.
The accident is currently under further investigation.
